Top 5 Wednesday | Favorite Female Friendships

So, uh…This is awkward. See, the actual topic of this Top 5 Wednesday was “Best Suggested Books You Loved (books recommended to you),” but I’ve only ever had one book/series recommended to me by an actual human being and that was The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo (on a side not, it was great). So SURPRISE! That’s not what I’m going to be talking about this Top 5 Wednesday! (Sorry)

INSTEAD! In celenbration of the upcoming Galentine’s Day, I’m going to be telling you my top 5 favorite female friendships in YA! YAY!

Karou and Zuzana from Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

These two. They are, like, #squadgoalsforever. I love how loyal they are to each other and how honest and funny they are. They keep each other happy and share secrets and they’re just da bomb dot com.

The Ladies of The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

This is a group that kind of fell together because the circumstances required it, but they work so well together. I mean, talk about girl power! Together, these ladies form a powerful crew!

Safiya and Iseult from Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

I’m in the middle of Truthwitch atm, but already I think the friendship between Safi and Iseult is one of the best points of the book. These two always have each other’s backs and they’re there for each other no matter what!

Celaena and Nehemia from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Who doesn’t love these fierce friends? These two have each other’s back no matter what and nobody’s coming between them!

Ginny and Luna from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

Now, granted, we don’t see much of these two in the book or the movies, but when we do it’s awesome! Ginny’s always so fiercely protective of Luna and always stands up for her. But more than that, she’s actually Luna’s true friend and in my mind, I imagine they’re a pretty amazing pairing!
